Yelo Autosports is an automotive detailing company that was started in 2015 out of a two car garage. Our vision from the beginning has always been to bring the highest quality of work while educating the client about our processes. This means that we continually study our craft in order to deliver the best results for you. It also means that we believe in full transparency with you about our processes. Our aim is to deliver the highest level of work every single time, while making sure you leave more educated about the services we have done to your car. At Yelo Autosports, we are not just a car wash. We are your local friends and local guides when it comes to everything detailing, window tint and paint protection film.

Tou - Founder & Tech
After discovering my passion for auto detailing while restoring the paint on my Mazda Miata, I knew I wanted to share that joy with others. In 2015, I started Yelo Autosports as a side project alongside my full-time job as a Saint Paul Firefighter. After 15 years of service as a firefighter and a Marine, I decided to fully commit to my vision in 2022 by focusing strictly on Yelo. Everyday, I bring the discipline, dedication, and attention to detail honed from my diverse experiences to provide exceptional car care, transforming every vehicle into a work of art.

Phil - Master Tinter
Phil is our master tinter at Yelo Autosports, with thousands of cars under his belt—he knows every trick in the book and probably wrote a few of them. Beyond his tinting skills, Phil is our walking encyclopedia for all things cars, making him our go-to guy for every automotive question imaginable.

Adam - PPF Installer
Adam, our PPF installer at Yelo Autosports, is one of the fastest learners you’ll ever meet—if there were a speed limit for picking up new skills, he'd be in trouble! His immense patience, essential for any great installer, is matched only by his passion for his craft. When he's not perfecting paint protection films, you can find him fishing, where his patience really pays off.

Anthony - Detailer
Anthony is our resident auto detailing expert with a unique set of skills—his love for fishing and anime! With the patience of an avid fisherman and the determination of an anime protagonist, he battles swirls and defects like they’re villains in his favorite show. Anthony is always on a quest to achieve the final stage: a perfectly clean and swirl-free ride!
On this journey, we linked up with Mira Auto Wellness in Fahrzeugaufbereitung - Beulendoktor, Germany for a day of collaboration, sharing insights, and refining techniques. We were particularly impressed with their facility layout, including a parking lot above the workshop that maximized space and efficiency. This partnership allowed us to explore different approaches to PPF, from Mira’s precision installation methods to their efficient team dynamic process, helping us learn a more productive yet refined style of PPF.
Our collaboration reflects our commitment to providing the Twin Cities with the highest standard in automotive detailing and PPF installation. By continuously learning and evolving, we ensure that every vehicle we service receives superior protection and aesthetic excellence. We’re excited to bring these enhanced skills to our community, setting new standards for automotive care and helping every car stay protected and look its best.

On This day we visited Bavaria Motors in Harelbeke, Belgium, an impressive facility filled with amazing cars. During our visit, we had the opportunity to chat with Bart, their expert Gtechniq ceramic coating and PPF installer. Our conversation focused on efficiency and the different methods we each use for paint correction, paint refinement, and paint protection. This exchange allowed us to explore both similarities and differences in our techniques, broadening our understanding of the detailing industry across the globe.
The insights we gained from our time at Bavaria Motors were invaluable. We were excited to bring this knowledge back to the Saint Paul and Minneapolis area, reinforcing our processes and enhancing our expertise in Gtechniq ceramic coatings, PPF installations, and overall detailing services. Our goal is to continue providing the highest quality protection and shine for every vehicle, ensuring our clients in the Twin Cities receive the best in automotive care.
We went and teamed up with Julien and his team at Sud Esthetique 77, located in the charming town of Châtelet-en-Brie, France. From the moment we stepped into their refined shop, we were impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the attention to detail in every corner. It was clear that this was a place where passion for auto detailing thrived. What truly stood out to me, was their client pick-up area. Which was very well thought out in design and made for an extremely photogenic space.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to share philosophies with Julien’s talented team and dive into a hands-on exchange of detailing methods. We showed each other different techniques and shared tips on achieving the perfect finish. This collaboration was incredibly insightful, allowing us to learn new approaches and refine our skills in paint correction. By the end of the day, we all walked away with a deeper understanding of our craft and an appreciation for the artistry of auto detailing.

We visited with Mikael from Perfect Detailing, a fellow Gtechniq ceramic coating installer located in Lille, France. We learned and shared insights on the art of auto detailing. Our connection was instant, fueled by our mutual passion for excellence in car care. Upon visiting Mikael’s facility, we were amazed by what he had built from the ground up. His dedication to sustainability is evident in every aspect of his shop, from the ingenious rainwater collection system that is reused in washes to the thoughtful engineering that supports every detail of the building.
During our time together, we not only exchanged techniques but also delved into our business processes to enhance client interactions and service quality. It was incredibly valuable to discuss our methods and learn how Mikael integrates his deep knowledge of auto detailing into every facet of his business. This experience was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our skills and bring back fresh ideas to improve our services.
We had the honor of being invited by David P. of Oberk Car Care to instruct alongside renowned experts Eron Knox, Jason Killmer, and Matt Arendt at the Ringbrothers facility in Spring Green, WI. The Ringbrothers, multiple-time winners of SEMA's Battle of the Builders, graciously hosted this training, providing an incredible backdrop for sharing knowledge and skills in auto detailing. As a former student of Gloss University, I was thrilled by the opportunity granted to me by Dave and Matt to return as a guest instructor this time. I was able to share my expertise, focusing on the business aspects of detailing, client respect, and how to effectively cater to their needs, enhancing both the art and professionalism of our craft.

Window Tint Guest Instructor at Chicago Auto Pros and Opticle
We were invited by Chicago Auto Pros to serve as a Master Tinter trainer, teaching a group of new window tinters alongside industry experts Jesus and Eman. Both Jesus and Eman are highly respected for their expertise, and it was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with them in certifying a new wave of skilled tinters across the country.
With over 10 years of experience in the industry, I truly enjoyed sharing my knowledge and helping new tinters discover ways to grow their businesses. As the owner of Yelo, I believe in fostering growth in everyone I interact with—clients, employees, friends, and beyond. This experience was a perfect reflection of that value, providing a chance to mentor and inspire the next generation of window tinters.
We attended a five-day course led by Renny Doyle, a Master Detailer known for leading the Detail Mafia which details Air Force One. That’s right, Air force one, as in the President’s airplane. This comprehensive certification program covered every aspect of auto detailing, including exterior and interior detailing, wet sanding, paint touch-ups, and more. Learning from one of the most prominent names in the auto detailing industry was an incredible opportunity to deepen our expertise and enhance our skills.
Our goal in taking this course was to refine our detailing processes and ensure we deliver the best possible results for our clients. By mastering advanced techniques and expanding our knowledge base, we are better equipped to provide top-tier auto detailing services. This experience has allowed us to elevate our standards and continue our commitment to excellence in every detail.

I recently traveled to train with Yvan Lacroix, an esteemed industry leader with 35 years of experience in auto detailing. Yvan is currently the Brand Ambassador for Lake Manufacturing and the owner of DIY Detail, one of the fastest-growing detailing product companies in the industry. His impressive background includes serving as the former VP of Opti-Coat and Director of Training at Polymer Technologies, making him a wealth of knowledge in the detailing world.
During our training, I gained invaluable insights from Yvan’s decades of expertise, learning advanced techniques and industry secrets that I’ve since brought back to the Twin Cities. This experience has enabled us to enhance the auto detailing services we offer our clients, ensuring top-notch results and exceptional customer satisfaction. We are committed to applying these new skills to improve our clients' experiences and deliver outstanding detailing work.
